From
plein air painter on the rugged coast of Maine to a studio
Artist and teacher for the rest of the year, Nita is very
prolific with her art. From her delicate and intricate still
life, to her commissions of painting Victorian homes, or her
lovely creations of greeting cards, art is on her mind from
morning to night. Her love for beautiful things as antique lace
and tea cups to lovely flower gardens. All of these can be seen
in her work.
Born and raised in France, and having
attended the famed Ecole des Beaux Arts at a young age and on to
the Ecole de Dessin in Paris. In 1964, Nita married a young
American soldier and for the following twenty years went on to
travel all over the world with him and their three children.
While living in Italy she felt more inspired with all the beauty
around her and continued painting primarily in oils. Later, in
Germany, she began teaching art in the American community.
Nita is a very motivated person and
considers herself very fortunate to live in a beautiful New
England town. "The beauty is all around me, from mountains to
the seashore and a little bit of Old World feeling". She gets
her ideas while driving the back roads where she discovers
countless scenes that intrigue her.
Nita is now working on her French landscape collection ,which
are painted on location in small villages in the Sologne region
where her Mom resides. Before she decides on a scene, she walks
the paths many times over at different times of day to capture
the right atmospheric feeling and has encountered the locals and
exchanged the greetings of the day. Nita makes a twice a year
visit, Fall and Spring, to the Loire valley where she was raised
and the Sologne region where her mom lives. She hopes to capture
the beautiful landscapes of that region where many famous
impressionist have previously painted.
